As we design websites we always make sure that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has been done - this is the process of maximizing the ranking of your website, so that you can be found by potential customers. Recently two of Google's executives for Adwords, Sridhar Ramaswamy and Jerry Dischler, gave some interesting insights into Google searches.
There were trillions of searches and half were from smartphones.
Nearly a 1/3 of all searches from smartphones included a location.
Of those searches, location based searches are growing at the fastest rate.
Search and advertising tools drove $165 bn of economic activity for 1 million businesses, websites and non-profits in 2015.
Taking into account this information, it is vital that your website contains information about your location in your website's meta tags and title to ensure that you are found by smartphone searches.
